First Beach Trip

This past week, Lucy and I went to Gulf Shores with some of my family while Mark was in Birmingham. This was Lucy's FIRST beach experience! She loved the sand. She didn't act like it grossed her out at all, and even crawled around in it and ate it a couple times (naturally). We really missed Mark, but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to get Lucy to my favorite place in the world. We're planning a family trip, just the three of us, in September, so Daddy will get plenty of beach time with Lucy then.

First time in the sand!

Checkin out the water

Walking with mommy on the beach

This is her new favorite face. She does it ALL the time, and we're not really sure what it's about.

mmm....just after a big bite of sand

sweetest thing I've ever seen

Again, with the sand eating

My sweet cousin Mollie

She found a seashell! And then of course, tasted it.

Sitting by the pool after a big swim

"ooooh" ing at some birds

Just FYI, there was a lazy river at the condo, (which was amazing by the way) and Mimi and Grandy (my grandparents) DID get in and really enjoyed it. However, I was threatened with my life if I ever posted pictures of them in the water on the internet. Hopefully one day those pictures will come out. For now, they will stay on my computer at home. Thank you to my wonderful family for letting us tag along, and for all your help with taking care of Lucy on the trip!

The fake mini pool

So we've been swimming a lot over at The Campbell's pool lately, (I have a fabulous video I promise to post soon of Lucy swimming) and it has definitely proven to be one of Lucy's favorite activities. Today, I thought I would attempt the mini pool. If you can even call it that. Turns out, Lucy loves water in any shape or form, even in a miniature $5 blow up pool in the back yard. Good to know.

Adorable. P.S. that's a vintage swimsuit from mommy's closet when she was a little girl.

The ever-present scrunch face. I don't know why.

She loved this!

Bucket head. This made us laugh for some reason.

"airing out" after swimming.

And the best part about spending the afternoon in the pool and the sun....

Sunny Orlando

Well, we didn't go to Disney, it didn't stop raining until the last day, and we didn't get much sun, BUT we had a fabulous time and got some much needed bonding time with family. According to the news, Orlando had record breaking rainfall and most counties had severe flooding while we were there too. Whadyaknow. Here's all the pictures I took...they are mostly of the kids playing in the condo, cuz that's pretty much all we did the whole trip!

Lucy helping me pack

Fortunately there was a playground that was covered at the resort, so James got to run around even with all the rain

aaaannnddd my 25 year old husband on the playground

James playing in the fountains in the rain. This pic is too precious.

Me reading to the kids

Finally, on Wednesday we decided to get up early and go swimming even though it was cold and rainy

Loving her float

She's gonna be a natural, I can tell

Our first and only day of sun! We made Lucy eat lunch poolside so we didn't miss ONE minute of the beautiful sunshine!

Laying out with mommy

Mamas and babies

James going in for the attack hug

Make-up kiss

I'm not sure why but she loved laying on top of her float. Maybe she loves to sunbathe as much as her mommy does :)

Chillin poolside with mommy

There's nothing like a fruity drink by the pool on vacation

Getting "swim lessons" from mommy

Overall, we really had fun and enjoyed our time. Fortunately the condo was really nice, and the Orlando Premium Outlets (Joe's Jeans outlet anyone???!!) were literally a 5 minute walk away, so we did a lot of shopping and in-room bonding. The parents even got to have a date night thanks to the grandparents/sponsors/babysitters. We love our Campbell Clan! Can't wait for next year's trip!
