Week at Dee Dee's

A few months ago, Mark started a new job and had to go out of town for 2 weeks for training. While we were very excited about his new career opportunity, we were not thrilled about Mark being gone for 2 weeks straight. The girls and I spent a week at my mom's to help pass the time. They love being at Dee Dee's house and it was like a mini vacation for them.

Mostly we danced, played outside, and had fun exploring all of the "new" toys at Dee Dee's house.

My mom bought a bubble blower just for our visit...it was a big hit.

Lucy found some of Uncle Jake's old hockey gear

My mom has the perfect deck for playing and sunbathing :)

On a rainy day, I let Lucy play with my old American Doll. She literally played in my room for over an hour with all the doll stuff. I didn't think she was old enough for one of these dolls but maybe she's ready!

We are so thankful to my mom for being such a gracious hostess and letting us invade her life for a week! I know she was tired and worn out after we left :) We had so much fun and it was so nice to spend some one on one time with my mom.

2 for 1 Nashville trip

Mark's roommate and best friend from college got married this past weekend in Nashville, AND our 6 year anniversary is today, so we decided to make an official getaway out of it.....wedding and anniversary trip in one.

Mark was in the wedding so he had to be at all the official events, but it's funny how much less time groomsmen are committed to than bridesmaids. Day of the wedding, guys pretty much just take a shower, put on their tuxes, and, well that's it. Plus it was like free date night two nights in a row bc of the rehearsal dinner and then the wedding reception. In between the wedding events we actually had a lot of downtime and were able to tour the city, eat out, and just enjoy a weekend without kids.

I didn't take many pictures but I did try and get a few on my phone....our trendy hotel downtown....

Eating out...

And a few from the wedding...

We had a blast, and so enjoyed the time away. Thanks to mark's parents for keeping the girls, and to Tyler for getting married and giving us an excuse to leave town :)

Can't believe we have been married for 6 years already. I am so thankful for the Lord's providence in our relationship and marriage. The way He molded us into what each other needed, brought us together at just the right time, and nurtured our relationship in His divine way. I am so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man, and grateful to our Heavenly Father who orchestrated it all.

This week

iPhone picture dump of our life this week. If you follow me on Instagram (the best social photo app ever that doesn't involve all the crap and vanity of Facebook) then these will be repeats. Oh sorry....did I just get on a soap box for a sec?

Playing in water on a hot day since our neighborhood pool isn't open yet...

Picking more strawberries, because we can't get enough....

Playing dress up with sister...

Berry Pickin

Last weekend we went to Whitley Farms, right down the road from us, to pick fresh strawberries. They were soooo good and the Whitley's don't use any pesticides or chemicals so we could eat them right off the plant.

Sweet Annie hung out in one place the whole time and munched on strawberries....

Lucy decided to try a few too

The blueberries won't be ready for several more weeks, but Lucy had to go see them

Annie in the strawberry fields

She was COVERED in strawberry juice by the time we finished. I love Oxiclean. It saved this dress.

When we got home we feasted on pecans and strawberries :)
YUM!
