Sunny Orlando

Well, we didn't go to Disney, it didn't stop raining until the last day, and we didn't get much sun, BUT we had a fabulous time and got some much needed bonding time with family. According to the news, Orlando had record breaking rainfall and most counties had severe flooding while we were there too. Whadyaknow. Here's all the pictures I took...they are mostly of the kids playing in the condo, cuz that's pretty much all we did the whole trip!

Lucy helping me pack

Fortunately there was a playground that was covered at the resort, so James got to run around even with all the rain

aaaannnddd my 25 year old husband on the playground

James playing in the fountains in the rain. This pic is too precious.

Me reading to the kids

Finally, on Wednesday we decided to get up early and go swimming even though it was cold and rainy

Loving her float

She's gonna be a natural, I can tell

Our first and only day of sun! We made Lucy eat lunch poolside so we didn't miss ONE minute of the beautiful sunshine!

Laying out with mommy

James going in for the attack hug

Make-up kiss

I'm not sure why but she loved laying on top of her float. Maybe she loves to sunbathe as much as her mommy does :)

Chillin poolside with mommy

There's nothing like a fruity drink by the pool on vacation

Getting "swim lessons" from mommy

Overall, we really had fun and enjoyed our time. Fortunately the condo was really nice, and the Orlando Premium Outlets (Joe's Jeans outlet anyone???!!) were literally a 5 minute walk away, so we did a lot of shopping and in-room bonding. The parents even got to have a date night thanks to the grandparents/sponsors/babysitters. We love our Campbell Clan! Can't wait for next year's trip!

Paul Wesley Heard II

We're still in Orlando, but I had to sign on real quick to announce the birth of Lucy's future husband, (just kidding...sort of) Paul Wesley Heard II, born to Preston and Denby Heard yesterday! He was 7 lbs 5oz, and is SO cute. You can see pictures of him here. Preston and Denby, you know we love you guys like family, and we're already proud of the parents we know you will be. Congratulations to you both, and welcome to the family Paul!

Swinging!

There's a park in our neighborhood that we can walk to from our house, and we took Lucy for the 30 minutes it decided to stop raining this week. It's good for my garden though, so I shouldn't complain.

Please look at those dimples!

This is what happened when we took her out of the swing when it was time to go home.

And....my new pride and joy...

No, it may not seem like anything special to most of you, but to me, this is a VAST improvement on our last refrigerator. I'm so excited! It's amazing the things you get excited about once you're married and have a house.

We're headed to Orlando tomorrow to spend the week with Mark's family, so I'll post when we get back!

New camera pics

So if I wasn't obnoxious enough with the picture taking before, I've REALLY gone overboard now that I have this new camera. Here are a few of my favorites from the past week...

What a gorgeous, gorgeous girl I have.

One Week Later

This is my garden about a week and a half after planting day...

Better Boy Tomatoes

This one's the biggest

Cherry Tomatoes

And this is what happens when you neglect the asparagus for two days...they grow into branches and you can no longer eat them. These things grow like weeds.

Fortunately I caught these just in time for dinner tonight

Still no sign of the zucchini, but I'm not expecting it for another 30 days or so. Also the bell peppers look good but haven't grown tremendously so I didn't picture them.

Oh, and did anyone notice my picture quality? I got a new digital SLR camera for Mother's Day! I'm so excited! I've really been experimenting with it a lot so I can figure out how to use it properly. I realize Mother's Day is Sunday, but Mark is no good at gift giving...he bought the camera yesterday and gave it to me that night, he couldn't wait until Mother's Day! What a sweet husband!

9 months comes with an attitude

Lucy had her 9 month check up yesterday, and the topic of discussion between her pediatrician and mommy? Discipline. This girl has the strong will of her mommy, plus the "I don't care if I get in trouble" attitude of her daddy. Bad combination. She really is a sassy little thing. It just means I'm going to have to work even harder to have a well behaved child! I'm up to the challenge though, don't worry. When she's not poppin a tude, Lucy really is such a sweetie. I think she just has more personality than she knows what to do with :)

Stats from her check up:

Weight: 19lbs 5 oz. - 50% (although she's been sick and hasn't eaten well the past week so I think she may actually weigh more than this

Height: 28" - 75%

Head: 45 cm - 90%

Apparently she has a big head. But of course we knew that already.

Helping mommy walk Heidi

Getting SO big and independent

Blueberry pancakes....(whole wheat of course) her new favorite

Lucy at her best: sittin in the sun with mommy, chewing on her sunscreen stick. Don't get me started on the hat. It was a major battle. Mommy won though.

Today's harvest

Looks like we'll be having asparagus tonight for dinner!
